Over the past 6 months, we have been collaborating with ART:DIS, a leading non-profit organisation in Singapore, dedicated to creating learning and livelihood opportunities for persons with disabilities in the arts, through the sale of hand-built ceramic vessels containing hand-poured candles at our stores. More than half of the sale proceeds go back directly to ART:DIS and their artists.
When our organisations first met as booth neighbours at the Boutique Fairs 2023 Gifting Edition, we fell in love with the beauty of the ceramic vessel candles which can be repurposed into planters and accessories holders once the candles are finished.
Like all good neighbours at the fair, it started with a little chit chat with Ms Angela Tan, Executive Director of ART:DIS, where we learnt about the meaningful story and purpose behind each piece of the ceramic vessel candles. There and then, our cofounders decided that we need to join in on their mission and vision – to empower, to advocate and create opportunities for persons with disabilities through the arts – a cause close to our hearts.
Our collaboration kicked off with us retailing the ceramic vessel candles in our stores, providing an additional, more accessible platform for customers who are looking to purchase these ART:DIS pieces. At the same time, the collaboration also expands the range of home goods available in our stores.
After months of trialling forms, and glaze colours with ART:DIS, we are excited to launch an exclusive range of jewelry vessels – the Petal Trinket Dish and Blossom Round Trinket Dish – featuring our signature gradient colours inspired by gemstones in our jewelry.

Through this collaboration, we are taking small steps to support ART:DIS in creating employment opportunities for their artists, enabling them to showcase their skills and talents, and building their confidence as contributing members of community. For Curious Creatures, this is a meaningful approach to create products while striving to be more socially conscious and doing our part for the community.
The ART:DIS X Curious Creatures collection was launched at our New Bahru store in June 2024 in conjunction with New Bahru's Sneak Peek, where we are neighbours once more with ART:DIS.
ART:DIS Studio at New Bahru will showcase the year-long work of around 50 multidisciplinary artists and brand collaborations.
The one-of-a-kind ART:DIS x Curious Creatures collection is available at all Curious Creatures stores.
